What...... a...... week!

It's Thursday night.

When you read this it will be FRIDAY the 13th.

I'm not superstitious or anything. But I have had THE WORST WEEK EVER. So it kind of makes you wonder, and worry.

ok, technically, it's not THE WORST WEEK EVER. I realize that. It just wasn't a great week in my little world.

It all started Sunday. Elli and her buddy were making me crazy. They weren't doing anything weird or unusual. I was just having one of those days where everything they did was the equivalent of scratching your nails on a chalk board.

They finally went outside for a bit, so I went in the kitchen to unload the dishwasher. Somehow I knocked my taped-together iPhone into my coffee cup.  A little 'plop' of coffee dropped in the silverware drawer from out of nowhere.

what the heck? where did that come from?

I wiped the coffee off the clean silverware. And that's when I saw my phone sinking like the Titanic in the coffee cup.

are you kidding me?

so sad

moment of silence for the drowned iphone

{insert silence here}

Later that night I woke up with the most horrible feeling that something bad was going to happen. I had this overwhelming feeling of dread. I wanted to go back to sleep but I couldn't shut my brain down.

Monday was uneventful. I was so relieved.

Then it was Tuesday. Elli and I left to go to school. We were 1 minute from home when we were hit by another car.

The kid that hit us was not too happy about the situation. He started dropping F-Bombs and blaming me which scared Elli and made her cry. Luckily no one was hurt. But the car was not driveable. The steering wheel was spinning round and round. I don't know a lot about cars, but I know it's not supposed to do that.

Elli got to ride in the tow truck. She was pretty stoked about that.

Then later that day I was interviewed by Marin IJ for a feature on my blog. Coolio! We set up a photo shoot for Thursday. At my house. In my kitchen. MAJOR STRESS about that. In a flash of panic I thought about all the things I wanted to do in my kitchen but couldn't possibly accomplish in one day.

So the new plan was to scrub it from top-to-bottom on Wednesday night after I went to the grocery store. Sounds like fun, right?

We got our new phones on Wednesday. BIG YAY.

Then we got an email from Don's sister. Her husband Mike, who went through treatment for Leukemia last year, and was in remission, had some new blood tests come back that were not good. It looked like the Leukemia was back.

major sad face

we thought Mike had beat this nasty cancer

boo hoo hoo

On Thursday morning my iphone wasn't working. The SIM card didn't work. I wasn't even upset. It was par for the course for the week I was having. I would deal with it after my photo shoot.

The photographer that came over was great. He did the whole shoot in my kitchen. I made a super yummy spinach dip and talked non-stop. I even did a little wine tasting with him. He had no idea what hit him.

I went straight to the AT&T store after he left for the new SIM card.

all is good now

it's better anyway

I'm hopeful that tomorrow will be a great day.

Lucky 13.

i'm ready for you

you don't know who you're messing with

  1. So what happened on Friday?

    1. Hi James,

I made it through Friday without incident.

Well, there was one strange thing. A woman walked in our store with a homeless man saying God sent her there for drapes. Free drapes. Or 48 yards of fabric for free.

We don't get visitors like that very often.

      But that was it!

      SUCH A RELIEF!!!!

Oh, and because Saab is no longer in existence they can't locate any parts to fix my car. That is a bummer.

Thanks for your feedback!
