Hi, I'm Kris.
Back in 2009, I started this blog for a pretty funny reason.
I was working in advertising and trying to convince one of my clients that they should start a blog.
There was just one problem.
I had never written one.
So I did what any self-respecting marketer would do.
I Googled "blogging."
Blogger popped up.
I clicked "Create Blog."
Five minutes later, after staring into space wondering what in the world I was going to write about, this little corner of the internet was born. And I bet you'll never guess what my first blog post was.
The original plan was simple.
I'd write about recipes, wine, family, travel, and whatever adventures happened to find me. Things I knew I could write about and get content for.
Seventeen years later...
I'm still doing it.
Only somewhere along the way I discovered something I didn't know about myself.
I love telling stories.
The funny ones.
The heartfelt ones.
The ones that make you call your mom.
The ones hiding inside ordinary days that most people would forget.
Some stories begin with a recipe.
Some begin with a truck full of hay.
Some are about my husband, Don, my daughter, Elli, or our dog, Duke.
Some come from my years leading marketing teams and building brands.
And some...well...they're just too good not to write down.
These days I'm also working on my first memoir, The Purple Diary, the story of our journey to adopt Elli from China.
It may be the most important story I've ever told.
So grab a cup of coffee. Or a glass of wine. No judging here.
