Pancakes with Apples and Cinnamon

I love apple season. So I decided I would make some cinnamon apples with to top our pancakes on Sunday morning. The smell of the pancakes and cinnamon was to die for.

I made breakfast for Elli, Courtney (Elli's friend that slept over), Don and myself. We had a nice stack of pancakes with butter, syrup and the cinnamon apples. mmmmm, mmmm, mmmm

I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked over and the girls had completely pushed the apples aside and didn't eat them. WHAT?! Are you crazy? What's wrong with the apples? Elli's response "I dunno." Hmmm. What is wrong with these girls?

I remember making home-made apple sauce when I was little and couldn't get enough of it. This tasted really similar and was so good with the pancakes and some syrup.  Oh well. Don and I enjoyed it. And we have a little left over for tomorrow!

What Don and I really want, is a pie from Silverman's Farm in Easton, Connecticut. The Apple Crunch was our favorite. It has crisp apples with tons of cinnamon and a crunch topping that was oh so yummy.

Check out their motto. "Pie Fixes Everything." I have to agree with that!

We used to go way more than we should have. But we live in California now. So that's not going to happen. If you live in Connecticut you have to go. They really do have the best pies.

True story - - - I actually made Don fly with two pies from Connecticut to Chicago for Thanksgiving, right after 9/11. We were spending Thanksgiving at my brother's in Barrington. I was flying in from somewhere, Denver probably. Don was meeting me there. He loves these pies so much he actually agreed to go to Easton, get pies, and get on a plane with not one, but two pies. He was searched and questioned, but no one dared mess with the man with the pies!
